The Transient Pod Design Collective is a potent group of design fanatics who sail under a common philosophy. The POD believe that design is not the art of coming up with the world’s greatest ideas, but understanding how great ideas can be effectively crafted into a product or service and placed in the hands of a consumer.
The most successful design solutions are born through a thorough understanding of users, their motivations for using a product or service, and how they integrate it into their lifestyle. From this we can bridge the gap between entertainment & usability and use storytelling tools to invoke a meaningful user journey.
It is widely known that good design starts first with designing the team. If you look at the most successful teams they are fashioned through appreciating and understanding the motivations of a talented team. We understand the importance of leadership and growing leaders in order to remain sustainable. This foundation starts with recognizing how to attract and align talent, relishing in the small victories, and encouraging team members to engage & work on projects they are passionate about.
As a team that advocates the design process, we believe in doing whatever we can to stimulate creativity and enter the head space of our current project. Whether it’s back packing through the West Coast Trail with our laptops to create a tourism site, or watching Undersea Adventures at the 3D IMAX in order to create an better experience using the Z space. Effective problem solving requires inspiring wild ideas, editing with a vengeance and focusing on success. Life experiences are a designers most powerful tool, which spawns imagination and allows us to innovate.
On any given day you can find one of the collective diving off the shores of Pender Island, skiing the slopes of Blackcomb, competing in an overnight yacht race around Vancouver Island or rocking out during a jam session at one of our studios. We are all design generalists, each with a unique specialized skill, which allows us to effectively communicate, collaborate and deliver world-class results.
