Miles Nurse – Founder . Executive Creative Director . Senior Strategist

Miles is a seasoned, enterprise level leader, who’s passions are not only in the technical and interpersonal level, but go beyond into establishing strategic processes, defining cultures, and leading conceptual level innovation. He has a deep understanding of brand development, consumer centered design, imaging and natural user interfaces. He has established creative processes and innovation models across multiple interactive platforms stretching from Games, Web and Mobile.

Miles’ recent employers include Microsoft, Big Park, and Riptown Media, but his career as a leader in design started over a decade ago when he was dedicated to promoting and supporting the tourism industry. He assisted dive shops, retails stores and small resorts transition from start-up to small enterprises, while working as design consultant, strategist, cinematographer and educator. In recent years Miles has re-branded multi-million dollar companies, established product excellence benchmarks, spearheaded consumer insight initiatives, created talent development programs, incubated game concepts, driven many large scale interactive gaming & web experiences and taught hundreds of emerging design and dive leaders.

As advocate for the underwater world Miles uses the amazing underwater landscape as inspiration for design projects. He has teamed up with National Geographic to produce marine conservation videos, participated in dive medicine research projects with the Divers Alert Network and led many environmental conservation projects, fundraisers, clean up days & marine educational seminars.

As an Educator Miles’ career started more that fifteen years ago as a PADI Master Instructor and has been a Digital Design,  User Experience and Interactive Instructor at VFS for the past five years. VFS annually recognizes one instructor who demonstrates excellence in instruction and exemplifies passion, innovation, experience and ‘results’ in their teaching. In 2009 Miles won this award, which is voted on by both current & past students and by VFS colleagues.

Miles came into this world as an explorer and this passion has greatly shaped his life. He has travelled, lived and explored many corners of our globe, both above and below the water. Today Miles has logged over 5,000 dives, while visiting more than 25 countries, 400 towns in 5 different continents. He is an avid traveller, foodie, marine conservationist and sports fan. He is passionate about delivering world-class experiences around entertainment, lifestyle, and athletic driven products and services.
